Barons Charter Design to celebrate the Magna Carter

I recently submitted a design for the Barons Charter to celebrate 800 years since the Magna Carter. There are going to be lots of baron sculptures decorated by artists dotted all round Lincoln to celebrate. My design idea is a healthy eating baron humorously titled Baron Von Munchies who is wearing a variety of brightly coloured fruit and vegetables, milk, cheese and other healthy foods.

The Big Hoot Art Exhibition

I recently created a submission for the Big Hoot, an event that will be held this Summer in Birmingham exhibiting 100 owls beautifully painted giant owls, which will then be auctioned off for Birmingham childrens hospital. My design is a space owl nicknamed "One giant Hoot for Owlkind" as I thought it would be appealing topic for children and appropriate considering we think of owls as nigtht creatures, and it's pretty dark in space! I'll find out in the next few weeks if I'm chosen.

Art Exhibition at Flaxon Ptootch

This month I'm exhibiting a couple of original collages (The Witch & the Rainbow Cat and Stereovenus) and lots of new and older prints at Flaxon Ptootch, a trendy hairdressers and art gallery in Kentish town. It's great to be able to display the originals collages and show how they were created (and how much work went into them!) as well as a couple of newer pieces like Baby Jane in Acapulco and Song of the Siren.

Alongside my work are the paintings, drawings and prints of my talented friend Hannah Pratt. Her work like mine is very brightly coloured and focuses on creating imaginary worlds although she's also a huge sci-fi fan as you can tell by some of her designs names!

The exhibition is on till the 10th November. If you're interested in any of the pieces on show please do get in touch with the staff at Flaxon Ptootch or myself or Hannah. (My prints retail from £25 for a mini print, £100 for a 40 by 50 cm print unframed and £135 for a framed one). Below are some photo's of the private view from a couple of weeks back- thanks to everyone who came, especially Carl 2 Bob for providing the tunes!

Brighton Artists Open Houses

I'm excited to be involved in my first Brighton Open house. Every May, over 200 of the cities artists throw open their homes and studios for visitors to take a peek behind the scenes.

I'm part of Bluebell Would's open house in Hove and will be showing some of my prints, greeting cards and badges alongside several other wonderful artists and designers, including fellow illustrator DelThorpe and Bluebell herself.

There's a private view on Friday 2nd May from 8pm and then the exhibition is open the first 4 weekends in May 11am till 5pm. (If you'd like to say hello I'll be there on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 18th May)

November Exhibitions!

This month I've got a solo exhibition of my work at Kaizo Hair Salon in Shoreditch. I've entitled it "Down the Rabbit Hole" as my work often references Alice in Wonderland due to the large number of bunnies in my work! It's on for the whole of November and you can buy both cards and prints directly from the salon or from me at my NOTHS shop.

I've also got some new on my ele in the UK Elephant Parade.  She is now on display in Cardiff from 13th November at the Wales Millenium Centre.

Royal Teas Autumnal Art Exhibition

I've got a selection of my work on show at Royal Teas in Greenwich. I've chosen my most autumnal feeling pieces (since there's definitely a bit of a nip in the air right now!) including my new piece "Up, Up and Away!" that I created initially as a flyer for Wonderhill Craft Market. They do a fab selection of yummy cakes and are on a quaint little street just round the back of the town centre. To by my work email me direct, buy at my Not On the High Street Shop or pop into Reddoor Gallery and Cafe Greenwich who also sell a selection of my work too.

Mail Me Art

I was very happy to be selected as one of this years Mail me Art project artists (and also rather nervous as I had to pop my collage in the post and hope it didn’t disintergrate). Happily it arrived virtually unscathed and will be part of an exhibition in central London and art book. My design celebrates spring and the countryside and the joy of receiving a letter (from a bird!).
